WITCH OF THE WEEK: Triple Wick Goddess aka Jocelyn Amoroso

Jocelyn Amoroso, the Creatrix, Owner and face behind Triple Wick Goddess is an eclectic, crystal collecting, herb growing, moon gazing Witch. She has been pouring candles for a few wonderful years and manifesting her intentions for much longer. It was only natural to bring both passions together in Triple Wick Goddess.

She started her creative journey as an acrylic painter in the fine arts world, but she ultimately found it unfulfilling. Jocelyn enjoys anything that allows her to alter emotion through visuals. She also finds it extra rewarding if she can engage multiple senses, which is how she found her way into candle making.

She looks at each of her spell candles, soaps, or soaks as an art. She likes to live by keeping things in harmony and being grateful to nature for what it provides her and the universe. Jocelyn believes in doing good to receive good in return and that’s what she hopes to provide.

She has big dreams for the future of Triple Wick Goddess, as a community where everyone’s path is supported, promoting your manifestations and spiritual needs.

And I for one believe in her and her products.

Q: What is candle magic and why do you think its beneficial to the craft?

A: “Candle magic has been performed for many years and most of us have practiced candle magic at least once in our lives, when making a wish on your birthday cake! One of the biggest advantages of candle magicking however, is its simplicity. You can take a ritual that normally would take months to prepare and condense it to a candle ritual, paired with the ability to return to that same ritual just by re lighting that intention is another benefit most busy modern-day witches would benefit from.

Candle magick usually goes as follows: candles will hold the vibration from the last use. Begin by cleansing and charging the candle/s with your intention before any ritual to increase the effectiveness. This can be done purely with the intention, but some choose to anoint the candles with special oils, blends, herbs or carve runes, words or symbols into the candle. Light the candle while visualizing what you wish to achieve. Sit and meditate on your goal while the candle is burning down. Once you feel intuitively that you are finished, always snuff out the candle or sit with the candle until it has finished burning. NEVER blow away your intention. If the candle remains and you wish to perform the same spell again, always keep the unlit candle in a safe place and treat with respect for your goal.  Each time you light the candle, renew your intention. Once the candle has burnt all the way down or you are finished using the candle either bury the remaining wax outside or dispose of it safely.

The simplicity also encourages inclusion, giving newer practitioners a chance to do more complex spell work with a tool they are already familiar with. This also goes for witches who are not outwardly identifying, they have a tool that blends in with regular home décor, so candle magic is accessible and for everyone.”

Q: What drew you to start making Magickally infused candles?

A: “It started as a personal way to manifest and set intentions. I had been practicing herbal magick for some time beforehand. Candle making runs in my family so it really was only natural that intention candles would come next. I love making them into an art and focusing on the details. Each candle is created with full focus on its specific intention or manifestation. Every candle is poured during the most impactful corresponding moon, with placed herbs and botanicals to accompany the candles needs, a crystal to enforce the vibrations, a scent or oils to raise the purpose, and a hell of a lot of the right energy and intentions. Each individual candle component is smudge cleansed before pouring. After each small batch is complete, they are smudged again and charged for maximum impact. I take a lot of pride in what I do and magickally infused candles are a manifestation of that.”

Q: Do you personally identify as a witch? Has candle magick enhanced your spiritual practice? How so and why do you think that is?

“I do identify specifically as a green witch. Candle magick has not only defined my spiritual practice but also my everyday life. I love candle magick because I can pack so much into one tool: color magic, herbal magic, oil amplification, crystal magic, and moon magic. It goes so much deeper than that though, I grow most of my own herbs that are used in my candles so that gives me the opportunity to grow these herbs or botanicals with the intentions I want. The number of wicks I use in the candle can even be used to amplify the spell in some cases, being able to make spell work an art and take every element into consideration makes it so impactful, and that to me is so exciting.”

Q: What is one piece of Magickal or spiritual advice you would give to a newbie just starting their path?

A: “Keep it simple. Use what you have, to me the most important part of practicing is actually practicing your craft and learning your path. You don’t have to wait till you have fancy tools or an altar set up before cleansing or protecting yourself. There are always elements you can interchange in spell work, be creative, use your intuition, and keep working your path.”

Q: What advice would you give to a fellow witchy centered business just starting out?

A: “Stay true to the craft you are best at or most passionate about. Your clients can feel the difference in the energy or vibrations when the passion element is lacking. Also be inclusive to everyone no matter what path they are on or whatever stage they may be at. You become a beacon of knowledge for others, know your niche and be willing to educate. There is nothing more powerful than knowledge and a community being built up together.”

Q: Can you tell me more about your releasing mini collection?

“I am so excited for this, every few months I will be announcing a limited time mini collection. These mini collections will be a four-candle collection that have a specific theme. The collection we will be debuting with is our Goddess Collection. Four powerhouse Goddesses will be featured, Hecate, Aphrodite, Selene, and Lilith. Use them as offerings, to forge the connection, or just honor and channel the energy these ladies represent. These beauties will be available for a limited time through pre-order. Once they are gone, they will not be back in the permanent intention candle collection. Some of the other themes you will see in the future will be a Gods collection, as well as a few astrology based collections!”

A Moment of Gratitude…

“At the end of the day, let there be no excuses, no explanations, no regrets.”

Steve Maraboli

Some of you may know the story of The Nephilim Rising, and others may not. I am currently experiencing some major positive changes (finally) and I just need to take a moment and talk about this full circle moment; the moment when seeds begin to sprout and blossoms are soon to follow.

I found Dear Wicked in 2013, and I was at my weakest point in my life thus far. I was met by the Mothering, Powerful, Succubi energy that is C, and she forever changed my life. It was like I found home, and through endless conversations late at night we became friends, then Sisters, and she saw my potential.

She told me from the very beginning that the true test of a Teacher is to have a Student who is stronger than they are; she said that person was going to be me. At the time the whole idea seemed so far-fetched (still does) and I am not one who feeds into ideas of power–if you say you are, you aren’t. But, to have a Crone, a mentor, the first intimidating Witch I had really ever come across tell me something like that, it planted a seed inside me, and she knew it.

I, however, did not know until tonight, until right now; as I write this pieces still forming and connecting.

Let’s fast forward to December of 2014 when, in an act of rebellion during one of my famous tantrums I started this blog and the Facebook page. It was satisfying, at first, but then reality set in and all I could think was, “fuck, I am running a page and blog now– I am not only running a page and blog, but apparently my ego got to me and I have a point to prove, too.”

Well, in case you were wondering, you are never rewarded when trying to prove a point; it will always backfire.

And, so it did.

I struggled at first, I was met with a lot of haters and people who were chomping at the bit to “take a bite out of Noir” but I stood there and I took it. I may have reacted more times than I wanted to, I may have made an ass of myself a few too many times, but I stood my ground.

Some of the darkest moments of my entire life have coincided with me being a public figure, for lack of a better term. My readership has bared witness to a true personal testimony of what it means to have a spiritual awakening, find your power, and walk the Left Hand Path.

It is because of the page and this blog that I am going to be an Author– a real published Author. When the world is filled with writers galore, many self-publishing, it is no big deal, it seems, to be published.

To me, it’s everything. It’s the only thing.

The bar is much higher now, though.  It’s about adding new ideas, flavor, quantity, what best seller lists you make, or just pure fucking epic talent. A writer must consistently deliver and always be at their best level.

The problem is most writers don’t go past their personal best, so they remain stagnant—comfortable. As my Editor said a few days ago, “It is not in the Luciferian Nature to remain stagnant”.

I guess once again my free thinking Philosophy has helped me in life.

Let’s face it, I am not the best writer and my grammar at times even makes me cringe, but I grow, I evolve, and I continue to work on my Crafts: Magick and Writing, some say they are one in the same, I happen to agree.

Recently I found out that Black Moon Publishing is going to publish the book that myself and fellow Rebels wrote titled Lucifer: Light of the Aeon.

My Chapters feature images by some amazingly talented Women. I am honored to be using their Magickally infused Art to help tell my story, and convey a message to the reader. Thank you, Isis GraywoodLupe Vasconcelos and Orlee Andromedae. Also, one of my Chapters includes a poem by the talented Magenta Nero.

To say that I am grateful, and humbled to be among the talent I am, would be an understatement. I am in the company of Artists, Writers, Witches and Sages that are so Wise beyond my years; the blessing does not go unseen by me.

I don’t consider myself special, although sometimes I know that I am (Capricorn Rising talking) I just think of myself as someone who is living, breathing, and burning entirely, freely and openly in their truth.

That is the key to my success: being true to me no matter the cost.

Even when it was unpopular, particularly when it is unpopular, even when I came under fire, even when I was stuck in the darkest of dark’s, I vowed to remain true to myself, and now that Jupiter has gone direct my hard work is literally paying off and manifesting right before my eyes.

Apparently I made some kind of impression because my Editor has asked me to be part of another possible book project.

I stand here in the deepest of gratitude for the abundance and prosperity in my life and to think, it’s all because I decided to take a leap of faith.

I am living proof that a little rebellion, living your truth and good ol’ fashion hard work can and does pay off.

The page reached 17,000 likes this evening, and it is at this point just completely surreal. I created NR because I wanted and needed a sanctuary; it just so happens 17,000 people decided to join me. I am so grateful for all of you who share this journey with me.

Thank you.

I’m just getting warmed up.

Lessons in Magick: Accidental Casting

Mila Poirier

“Such a simple concept, yet so true: that which we manifest is before us; we are the creators of our own destiny. Be it through intention or ignorance, our successes and our failures have been brought on by none other than ourselves.”

Garth Stein

Today’s topic is one that a lot of you will probably laugh at but I am hoping after reading this you will see how much truth there is to my crazy little theory.

I think most of us can agree that thoughts are intentions, and create manifestations in our lives.

We bring to us what is most like our current state.

If we vibrate with negativity we attract negativity, if we vibrate with love we attract love, if we vibrate with rage we attract rage; like attracts like, the most basic Law of Attraction.

Let me side track for one moment because I want to talk about the word manifestation.

It has become an overused, light worker associated term, when in reality it is anything but.

Manifestation is very real, and any true Adept knows this.

Yes, the new agers got ahold of the word and just like everything else they touch, they have made it fluffy.

But, manifestation is nothing more than the Law of Attraction in action, and it can have positive or negative effects; I would say that is far from “fluffy”.

It’s essentially the Eastern idea of Karma; meaning action.

In this context it’s our Will; our intentions ARE action.

We then can draw similarities to Newton’s Third Law: every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

And people say Science and Spirituality can’t coexist. They go hand in hand!

Carrying on…

Thoughts create reality, right?

Words are energy, they essentially manifest our intentions, they conjure our desires, right?

So would it be so far-fetched to say that accidental castings can happen?

Is it even further of a stretch to say that they happen quite often?

The term “Self-fulfilling prophecy” has stemmed from this concept of manifestation, or at least I believe it has.

The catch phrase itself means that we create our fate, in layman’s terms.

According to good ol’ Wikipedia it means “a prediction that directly or indirectly causes itself to become true, by the very terms of the prophecy itself, due to positive feedback between belief and behavior.”

I have personally only seen the term used, and witnessed the idea in action in a negative context, a self-sabotaging type of way, but I suppose it truly could be positive.

For those of us who live, breathe and exist in the world of Magick we become our craft and we are the most important, deadliest tool in our arsenal.

What we think, we create.

What we speak, manifests.

When these intentions, thoughts and emotions are paired with action and words, it creates a spell. The idea that one needs ritual or ceremony to cast is what gets people into trouble.

Magick at its core is really quite simple, and basic.

We are casting Magick every second of every day because we ARE Magick.

I have cast against myself without even knowing it, and I am not ashamed to admit that. I was not clear with my intentions and the excess energy conjured backfired in my face.

I have forgot to send Djinn back, and they ended up turning against me because they were bored.

Those are just two experiences of mine.

I have had plenty of hiccups, and fuck ups along the way, and anyone who says they have not, I question the validity of their Practices, their discipline, their passion and their will.

To become great one must know what it is to be weak.

To become a Magickian, to become an Adept we must play both master and slave to our Will (we must know both sides of the coin).

Otherwise it’s (our Will) ineffective towards another, and it’s ineffective at bringing to us what we desire.

Let me give another example of accidental casting.

A friend (not at all new to Magick) recently casted a variation of the Vodou Spell known as Expedition Mort against herself.

For those of you who are familiar with the spell (ceremony) you are probably wondering how this could happen, as Vodou is extremely devotional and ritualistic, but let me explain.

She had attended a funeral for her most Beloved friend,  a Soul with whom her connection will never cease to be; you could use the term “Twin Flame”.

It was a gut wrenching time for her, and is still.

At the wake she had put a letter in his hands to be buried with him, and took a rose from his coffin.

The exchange between the living and the dead (he holding her letter; her in possession of his coffin rose) blurred the lines between this world and the next.

Her thoughts were suicidal, and her intentions, even though they were subconscious, were to die so she could be with her love; therefore, she gained the attention of the dead.

The spell became effective within 36 hours and her life began to fall apart; ways to kill herself were swirling in her head, her dreams had become intense and we both could feel that death was around her and had come to collect.

The Spell gained momentum, and the activity became intensified when she visited his grave site, and some of the dirt from his plot lodged in the tread of her boots which she then brought into her home.

Generally speaking, deals with the dead are not reversible, but there are always loopholes.

She found the loophole and faced some minor consequence or “ripple”, but I suppose that is better than death, right?

All actions,  Magickal or otherwise, have consequences. As I said above, I don’t believe in a threefold law but actions do have reactions and sometimes that’s our cross to bear, so to speak.

If you are afraid of being held accountable for your actions, Magick is not for you.

Alternatively, if the fear of consequence holds you back from going after what you want, or using your Magick to the full extent of your abilities then the craft is most certainly not for you either.
